Media Advisory
Press Conference on Save Our Schools Legislation
MADISON–Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa), Representative Francesca Hong (D-Madison), Senator Kelda Roys (D-Madison), and Senator Chris Larson (D-Milwaukee) will be hosting a press conference to announce the reintroduction of Save Our Schools: a K-12 education bill that raises the special education reimbursement rate to 90%, indexes per-pupil funding to inflation, and provides grants to students enrolled in teacher preparatory programs. This comes at a time when school districts recently learned that they will be receiving lower special education reimbursement rates than promised in the state budget, and after Assembly Republicans passed a series of bills to close public schools. WHO: State Representative Robyn Vining, State Representative Francesca Hong, State Senator Kelda Roys, and State Senator Chris Larson WHEN: Wednesday, December 10th at 11:00 AM WHERE: Assembly Parlor, Wisconsin State Capitol Any questions regarding the press conference can be directed to the office of Representative Vining.
